It feels like forever since we’ve done one of these projects. Glad to see there is still one or two local fellows out there with interest.

What we have here is a JDM DC5 5 lug conversion that includes calipers, rotors, knuckles, control arms, trailing arms and sensors. The front knuckles were taken from the parted out DC5 track car, so bonus goodies include once replaced complete hubs, extended studs and J’s Racing roll center adjusters. Also from the parted out track car, Swift front and rear sway bars are to be installed.

The front lower control arms received our regular treatment of SuperPro polyurethane bushings. This is a must for the DC5 and EP3 platform, these cars suffer from lack of castor.

Much is to be gained from this affordable upgrade;
• Constant steering geometry
• Better on road handling and control
• Traction control, more responsive steering
• Longer service life of suspension parts
• Increased tire life
• Extra off road stability
• Alignment correction and stability

TEIN Super Street coilovers will be used on this EP3;
TEIN Super Street damper kit was designed for drivers seeking improved handling on the street and at the track. A shortened shell case is utilized to allow the most piston stroke possible, which allows for a better ride at lowered ride heights, and increased grip at the track. Great for daily driving and occasion track use, whether it be at the drag strip, local circuit, or Auto-X course. Includes both ride height and damping force adjustment to allow the driver to dial in the suspension for various surface conditions.

Coming in late this year, the DC5 is only now going though its upgrades. Couple of the major changes this year will be the install of Mugen N1 coilovers & corner balancing of the car. Today the old Öhlins PCV using Swift 140 (14K front) and 160 (16K rear) springs came out. To its replacement, a set of Mugen N1 rocking Swift 160 fronts, 280 rear springs and Cusco camber plates.
